Milken Institute Students

ADISA continues to partner with The Milken Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank focused on accelerating measurable progress on the path to a meaningful life. The following students, members of The Milken Institute's 2024 HBCU Fellows Program, will be in attendance at ADISA's 2024 Spring Conference.

Ashton Brown

 

Ashton Brown is a passionate and enterprising student studying Economics at Howard University. Ashton developed a love for people and diverse perspectives while growing up in Texas, Georgia, and South Florida. His major, Economics, has ignited an enthusiasm for community development and economic advancement for marginalized communities through fair housing and fiscal responsibility. Mostly, he enjoys Economics as the study of people and the systems and organizations they create to shape our world. Outside of his studies, Ashton loves music and considers himself a hip-hop historian. He is seeking opportunities in financial roles to advance.

Olivia Gwin

 

Olivia Gwin, raised in Mobile, Alabama, is a sophomore Accounting major attending Bethune-Cookman University. She is an active Resident Assistant and Chief Information Officer (CIT) employee for Bethune-Cookman. She is a member of B-CU’s Honor and Development Program, National Association of Black Accountants, and the Real Estate Club. As a Milken Institute HBCU fellow, Olivia aims to meet professionals of color and build her network. She aims to understand how finance can be leveraged to positively impact the world. In her spare time, she pursues her passion for dance.

Kennedy Jenkins

 

Kennedy Jenkins is a rising third-year student at Bethune-Cookman University pursuing a degree in accounting. Interested in obtaining a CPA and learning about asset and wealth management as well as personal finance, Kennedy hopes to gain more knowledge of the financial sector while building her network as a Milken Institute HBCU fellow. Kennedy accepted an internship at Brown & Brown Insurance during the summer of 2024.

DayMond Johnson

 

DayMond Johnson, a third-year student at Morehouse College, is pursuing a diverse academic journey with a major in Philosophy, Finance, Entrepreneurship, & Innovation. With a passion for empowering youth, DayMond has founded a non-profit organization dedicated to  educating high school and college students on essential financial skills such as investing, budgeting, and building credit. His commitment to financial literacy is further highlighted as a Milken Institute HBCU Fellow, where he aims to deepen his understanding of asset management for his ongoing entrepreneurial pursuits.

Kennedi Nobles

 

Kennedi Nobles is a second-year student at Alabama State University from Birmingham, Alabama pursuing a degree in Finance and a minor in Communication. She is a recipient of both the Smith Scholarship Foundation and Alabama State Academic Incentive scholarships and has been on the Dean’s list. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Women in Finance, Collegiate 100, National Association of Black Accountants, and University of Activities and Program Board. As a volunteer, she also finds time outside of school to give back to the community. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to apply to graduate school to further her education in finance.

Madison Oliver

 

Madison Oliver is a third-year Business Administration scholar on the five-year professional MBA track at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Her past experiences include participating in the Goldman Sachs Market Madness Program and competing in the KIND Snacks Perfect Pitch Case Study Competition. As a Milken Institute HBCU Fellow, Madison aims to grow her knowledge of the financial sector and network with like-minded individuals throughout the program to deepen her understanding of finance. Madison interned at The Estee Lauder Companies during the summer of 2023.

Jeremy White

 

Jeremy White is a sophomore Computer Information Systems major from St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a first-generation Jamaican immigrant with an interest in finance and technology. As a Milken Institute HBCU fellow, Jeremy looks forward to attending conferences, building a network, and learning as much as he can about asset management. Upon receiving his degree in Information Systems, Jeremy plans on pursuing a career in investment banking. In his free time, Jeremy can be found in the kitchen, trying new recipes or exploring DC and trying new foods.

Duane Wright

Duane Wright, a rising third-year student at Norfolk State University, is pursuing a B.S. in Business with a focus on Finance and a minor in psychology. In his first year, Duane joined the Supernova Scholars Program, igniting his interest in wealth and asset management and providing him with a platform to explore and develop his passion for the financial industry. Duane successfully secured and fulfilled a summer internship at Raymond James Wealth Management through his involvement in Supernova Scholars. As a Milken Institute HBCU Fellow, Duane aims to acquire extensive knowledge across diverse realms of finance and strengthen his network to position himself for a meaningful career in finance. Duane will be interning at Raymond James during the summer of 2024.
